Mattress Comfort
Is Essential for a Good Night's Sleep
For most of us in choosing a
mattress, comfort is high on our priority
list. Here are some of the factors that create mattress
comfort.
Materials
In a traditional coil spring mattress, the
amount and type of cushioning between the springs and your body
will determine how comforttable you are while lying on your
mattress. Foam of varying density is a popular choice.
Convoluted foam and various fabrics such as wool, silk or even
cashmere will create different amounts of plush softness, with
a major effect on mattress comfort.
Firmness
Many people find a firm mattress provides the support they
want for their backs. Some may feel they are sacrificing
comfort for firmness, but on the other hand you won't feel very
comfortable if your back hurts. This is very much a matter of
personal preference, so make sure you test the mattress well
before you buy.
Construction
While memory foam is gaining in
popularity for its comfort and support, there is still much
comfort to be gained from a well constructed coil
spring mattress.
Pay attention to mattress comfort when
testing in the store, as it will certtainly contribute to the
quality of your sleep.
